Truth be told, now that you mention it, this actually was a Top Five list originally. I made it a Top 6 to include Theron because I like her, even though she wasn’t as requested as the other five.

Obviously the writer would include her in a list of his top 6 actresses to play Captain Marvel even though he “doesn’t want her because she’s too old” instead of just making it a top 5 actresses and omitting her.

And just to be clear, I personally don’t think that any of the actresses on this list are too old for the role.

I’m actually a fan of Theron; I think she’d be a good choice. I put ages because it’s something a lot of people were bringing up when I was doing my research. It’s a legitimate factor to think about. It’s why people were talking about Jackman (47) ending his Wolverine career before he even announced ‘Wolverine 3’ would be his swan song, and it’s why people are already talking about replacing RDJ (51) as Iron Man.

One other chick is 38. That’s still only a spread of seven years difference from oldest to youngest, so why bother mentioning it? I didn’t hear anyone bringing up Hugh Jackman’s or Patrick Stewart’s ages when they started!
