The Walking Dead doppelganger and cosplayer Cecil Garner, a.k.a. Cecil Grimes of Cecil Grimes Cosplay, took to the airwaves on 1560 am The Fan with host Mark Moses. There Garner gave a closer look into what he’s been up to lately as he takes his cosplaying full time, on the road and across the border.

Rick Grimes In Canada And All Over

Garner talked about his experiences on the road attending different conventions. Cecil Grimes Cosplay was featured at the 2016 Toronto Fan Expo Canada and mentioned the challenges crossing the border with his trailer and gear.

“That was overwhelming, try to cross the border with a giant zombie 10-foot trailer full of fake weapons.”

The Walking Dead cosplayer named off some cities he toured outside of his home state of Florida such as Dallas, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, and did the “Hollywood Walk of Stars.” He was even offered to work the strip in his cosplay ensemble. He’s still trying to get featured at the SDCC.

Rick Grimes Can Be An Occupation

If anyone is wondering if this is how he makes a living, the answer is yes. Garner files his taxes like anyone else and has even filed an LLC called Cecil G. Productions. It became official as of February.

The Rick Grimes Look

There are nine different wardrobes for the Rick Grimes ensemble, two of which are iconic, but he tends to keep in sync with his full beard since that’s what makes the whole cosplay thing work.

Can Rick Grimes draw a gun with his left hand?

Garner talked about how he’ll grey up his beard with some white powder at a convention to keep in sync with one of Andrew Lincoln’s looks as the character.

Moses mentioned the long lines to Garner’s booth for photo ops, so this gig is keeping The Walking Dead cosplayer pretty busy. His wardrobe comes from thrift stores and Ebay.

Where’s Carl?

Most fans know that Rick Grimes’ son Carl is always having his named called out dramatically on the show. Moses asked Garner how many times on a daily basis people ask him “Where’s Carl?”

“At a convention, we’re probably lookin’ at 30, 40 times.”

Walker Stalker Celebrity Encounters

During the previous Walker Stalker, Cecil Garner opened for an after-party event. Norman Reedus was back stage and he did meet him back then, but didn’t get any pictures with the Daryl actor.

This year Garner got a surprise photo op with Reedus at Walker Stalker in Philadelphia. Cecil had heard someone call his name when a security crew escorting the celebrity had passed by. That’s when Garner got a photo with him.

His goal is to get a photo taken with Andrew Lincoln at the 2016 Atlanta Walker Stalker coming up soon.

Road To Sanctuary Documentary And Mini-Series

Garner talked about his other projects. One is the Road To Sanctuary documentary that they are finishing up now and he’s taking time off in November and December to finish up the mini-series.

If you want to catch up with Cecil Garner and Cecil Garner Cosplay, you can find him at the 2106 Atlanta Walker Stalker convention that runs from Oct. 28, 29, and 30.
