AMC might be recovering from the ratings hit it took from last Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead, but they’re banking on recreating another iconic scene readers of the Robert Kirkman comic may recognize.

Minor spoilers from the season’s fifth episode “Go Getters,” left Carl (Chandler Riggs) riding the back of a Saviors’ truck on their way back to camp after taking their share from the Alexandrians in hopes to assassinate Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

The Walking Dead Comic - Carl sings to Negan

On issue #105 of the comics, Negan forces Carl to sing a song in front of him. The clip below also teases the reveal of Carl’s missing eye following an unfortunately incident with a gun in season six from an unruly Alexandrian.

The upcoming seventh episode titled, “Sing Me a Song,” reveals the synopsis as “A deeper look at the Sanctuary and the world of the Saviors; members of Alexandria look for supplies.” The episode will also be running 90 minutes.

As the season builds up, we are seeing the pieces that will be the forces likely banding together to take on the Saviors for the “All Out War.”

So in closing I do have a few questions for the rest of the season.

Are you looking forward to the next episode? Has the buildup been worth it so far? What other iconic moments from the comics do you hope come to the show? Is it too close to the comic? Has the show finally soured on you with the recent episodes?
