Deadpool director Tim Miller will be starting a new gig. He’ll be executive producer for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie adaptation, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The anti-hero helmer had parted from Deadpool 2 as a future project over creative differences and now will be joining Sony Pictures on this new venture.

Miller will be collaborating with Blur Studio’s Jeff Fowler for the project. Fowler will also be making his directorial debut as well along with Fast and the Furious’ Neal H. Moritz as a producer.
The plan is in the works to create a hybrid CG-animated live-action family film. Patrick Casey and Josh Miller will be script writing.
Miller gave accolades to his cohort Fowler.
“Jeff is an incredible director with strong story instincts. The world of Sonic presents the perfect opportunity for him to leverage his experience in animation to bring new dimension to this iconic character.”
Others joining the producer fray will be Toby Ascher as another executive producer. Dmitri Johnson and Dan Jevons will hop on board as co-executive producers. Marza’s Takeshi Ito and Mie Onishi will be joining Moritz as additional producers.
Andrea Giannetti will be overseeing this Sony Pictures Entertainment project.
