Sam Neill is no stranger to film franchises with Jurassic Park and he’s joining another in Thor: Ragnarok as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Neill reunites with director Taika Waititi, who previously worked with him on Hunt for the Wilderpeople and Jurassic Park costar Jeff Goldblum, who played Dr. Ian Malcolm. Goldblum plays the Grandmaster in Thor: Ragnarok and joining him is an all-star cast with Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins, Cate Blanchett, Mark Ruffalo, Karl Urban and Tessa Thompson.
Hemsworth, Hiddleston, Elba and Hopkins return as franchise staples Thor, Loki, Heimdall and Odin, respectively while Blanchett, Urban and Thompson will be playing new characters to the franchise in Hela, Skurge and Valkyrie. Ruffalo will be returning as Bruce Banner/Hulk in his first non-Avengers film in the MCU outside of a cameo.
Neill remained mum on what his role will be in the film.
[blockquote]“I’m not really allowed to say this and I can’t tell you what it is…I did a couple of days on Thor just before I came over here. [I] had to sign all sorts of things. So if I say anything else, Marvel’s secret agents — and they are lethal — will come and get me and probably my children, as well.”[/blockquote]
Plot details are scarce, but Entertainment Weekly speculates may involve an apocalypse from Norse mythology and elements from Planet Hulk comic arc may be making its way to the film.
Thor: Ragnarok comes to theaters Nov. 3, 2017.
