The comic book medium has an infinite amount of genres, so there is a comic book out there for you.
Comic books are also an art form so to state what makes a good story is subjective.

I just want a good story I don’t want politics I read comics to escape from reality not to have it thrown in my face. The only way to make a good story is to leave out ones own agenda and let the story make itself because as neil gaiman once said make good art.
