Are you serious? Way hasn’t ‘changed’ Deadpool at all. He’s been rehashing old plot points and bringing nothing new. This was an obvious attempt in a cash in (and it worked, sales spiked, but are now reaching mid to low 20k a month again) and changes nothing except the most shallow stuff.

To anyone else reading this, no this is not a good time to jump on. Go read classic Deadpool, or Cable & Deadpool.

Way’s Deadpool is shallow writing (turn off your brain? Like with Transformers 1-3 right? Or the live action GI Joe flick?) with nothing new, original, or even consistent with the character.

If you’re hopping on to Deadpool with Way for the first time imagine if someone took Bugs Bunny and ‘updated’ him by making him like Cartman from South Park.

It has little to no connection with the previous incarnation and instead of one style of humor (which is enjoyable) you’re blasted in the face with another completely opposite style of humor that makes little to no sense in context.

“Leaving your brain at the door” is an excuse for people who like the Phantom Menace and mindless hack and slash video games with no redeeming plot or bring anything new to the table.
