Pine’s performance was part of the charm of the film. I fear something would be missing without him, like how Lois was missing from Superman III. How he comes back could be a significant part of the plot, and perhaps show us another god that Diana has to contend with. It could also act as a nod to the comics and the Lynda Carter show.

I must admit, I was shocked that Steve Trevor was killed off. I expected to see a lone parachute floating down after the plane exploded. This would’ve worked!

Absolutely not. Trevor should not be brought back. It would cheapen the sacrifice he made, and lessen the impact his death had on Diana. Bringing the character back would be a very bad idea.
