It seems like Constantine is back regularly on TV after all…sort of…thanks to a second life on the CW Network for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Matt Ryan, who originally played John Constantine for the short-lived NBC series, has kept the character relevant despite the show’s abrupt cancellation with his appearance for the CW’s Arrow.

Maintaining the character’s cult following has reaped rewards as he will be promoted to series regular for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, pending season four’s renewal, according to Deadline.

Constantine will join the team aboard the Waverider after three guest appearances on Legends. Ryan’s return is certainly a breath of fresh air for Constantine fans since it’s rare cancelled shows enjoy a second life on a new network.

The popularity of Arrow, which was a spinoff off of Smallville, helped mold CW as DC’s premiere superhero network. Shows like The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow have become staples of the network. The Arrowverse had another addition with Supergirl, which was moved from CBS after the show’s inaugural season to the CW after facing an uncertain future.

With Legends expecting to return with Ryan’s promotion, could CW revive Constantine as its own show again?
