The pieces for The Justice League slowly coming together with the promotion of the film and Wonder Woman being released in 2017, but given the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, who will lead them?
Major spoilers of Batman v Superman from here on out.
As the events of Batman v Superman unfold, we discover Batman (Ben Affleck) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) have been doing research finding out other beings with enhanced capabilities like The Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and Aquaman (Jason Mamoa). Numerous comments point out Batman will be in charge since he’s the one who’s assembling the team.
The latest issue of Total Film Magazine talked to Henry Cavill, who talks about Superman’s return from the grave with a chip on his shoulder.
[blockquote]”There’s pretty much an argument between him and Batman as to who is the leader.”[/blockquote]
How much inter-superhero bickering are we going to get in Justice League? Would it just be better to rename this film Batman v Superman: Round 2?
My biggest concern is with the lack of standalone films to build up from The Flash and Aquaman to lead up to Justice League, will it hurt the development of the film? While The Avengers was a hit with audiences and critics alike, Batman v Superman was a bit more mixed with audiences liking it far more than critics according to Rotten Tomatoes.
When asked about dealing with the characters involved, director Zack Snyder talked about the opportunity.
[blockquote]”I think it’s in all the characters inherently, this larger than life, big, fun stuff, especially when you’re dealing with the Justice League.”[/blockquote]
Who do you think should lead The Justice League? Given the current DC Extended Universe, I think Wonder Woman should lead. She’s the most even-tempered of the three we come to actually know from Batman v Superman. This is coming from someone who grew up rooting for Batman. My money is Superman, because people get too upset if they break away from tradition.
