You are untitled to you opinion. But to be honest lately their have been a lot people bashing on him for something they read online. It feels like a movement of people that just wants him to play a “normal person”. I believe he is more like a Lon Chaney, Lon Chaney Jr. and Boris Karloff kind of actor which is extremely rare to see in this modern era. He fits perfect for the Dark Universe. His last few movies haven’t been good box office or reviews. But to be honest most of them I did enjoy. Lone Ranger is a fun popcorn flick, Mortdecai was pretty funny, transcendence was pretty curios and fresh and Black Mass was great. The only one that was not to my liking was Alice through the looking glass, but then again was a kids movie. Johnny to me is the most versatile actor of this generation along with Daniel Day Lewis. The only difference is that Johnny doesn’t take it too seriously and that! I appreciate. The art of movie making should be a passion. It should be fun to make.

How do you know about Johnny Depp’s work ethic? You don’t. And way to try to cover yourself by sneaking and acknowledging that Black Mass doesn’t fit into your agenda, because he was great in that, and “don’t tell me it was good, because it isn’t” is a cry of today’s critic with an agenda.

I gotta agree with the others here, if you don’t like him don’t watch him. He has always had a great work ethic & everyone who works with him says he is a real stand-up guy. Yes he went through a rough patch, who hasn’t? I’m really sick of people who have decided to play judge, jury & executioner. He still has lots of fans who love him & want to see more of him.

This isn’t new news. He was set to do this almost right after the allegations started. This was announced back when Tom Cruise signed on. Just jump on the bandwagon of hate. Everyone dissed his films fr the 90s too. He may not be everyone’s cup of tea.. and yeah, maybe his films have been not the best lately…. but regardless of his own life woes, he’s got fans… who will still pay. Pirates is a good example of that.

I think it’s shitty to have an actor cast before a director is in place. That to me is a bigger red flag as this seems to stem from a purely business standpoint, and from that perspective it makes zero sense. It’d be one thing if a director wanted to wield Depp’s baggage as a celebrity to enhance the role (a la Downey Jr. in Iron Man, Keaton in Birdman, etc), but I don’t think that’s what’s going on here. It seems like whoever directs will be an interchangeable studio hack whose job is to competently crank something out for the producers to supervise in the editing room.

I’m jealous of an actor who has wasted most of his money, has $2 million/ month bills, is an asshole to people on set, shows up late, and has been accused of domestic violence?

And I’m jealous of an actor who continues to mail it in with terrible movies just to pay his outlandish bills?

No, I am most certainly not jealous. I wouldn’t trade my life for his at all.

And why are you putting my name in quotes? That’s actually my name. You don’t have to quote it. Yes, the news flustered my feathers because it’s more laziness from studios who are consistently getting dunked on by TV and Netflix. Don’t feel bad for me, just go back under your bridge.
