As Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 approached its imminent US release, it’s already waves overseas with its first day intake of $22.3 million from 29 international markets.
While it’s projected to top $100 million internationally by the end of the weekend, Marvel’s debuted a new clip between Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper) in one of the numerous humorous exchanges the two will have.
The clip begins with Rocket making fun of Peter Quill’s nickname, Star-Lord by calling him “Star-Munch” and taking about their last predicament. This resulted in blowing up 50 ships before Star-Lord calls him a “stupid raccoon.”
Taking umbrage, Rocket boisterously takes offense and Star-Lord apologizes and offers a more sensible alternative and says he meant to call him a “trash panda” instead. Confused, Rocket asks “Is that better?”
Equally confused, Drax (Dave Bautista) responds “I don’t know” before Star-Lord turns to tell him, “It’s so much worse.”
Yahoo Movies also got an exclusive new image from the film.
“The team struggles to keep its newfound family together as it tires to unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage in the outer reaches of the galaxy.”
Directed by James Gunn, the film stars Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bautista, Cooper, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Michael Rooker, Kurt Russell and Sylvester Stallone.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 comes to theaters, May 5.
