Full disclosure: I am a Dave Sim enthusiast.
Couple of quibbles:
Sim’s Cerebus Syndrome: It wasn't a whole issue of Cerebus pissing. The fourth sentence is redundant. Sim didn't hospitalize himself, he was committed by his wife and mother.
The Legal Tug-Of-War: Spawn #10 hasn't been reprinted because of a clash between Dave and Todd. Dave and Todd have an agreement that either one of them can reprint the story whenever they want. Dave did an episode of Cerebus TV where he talked to Todd and they both agreed to that deal. Dave HAS prevented the reprinting of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #8, because various publishers refuse to acknowledge his copyright of Cerebus. If Todd won't reprint Spawn #10, his reasoning as to why is a mystery. But it doesn't involve a feud with Sim.
Cerebus and Sim: I'm fairly certain that Sim has stated on numerous occasions that he WASN'T Cerebus, but I freely admit I could be wrong on that. In the last few trades, Cerebus WAS a mouthpiece for Sim's views on religion. But that's not really what you were implying was it?
Who’s The Mouthpiece?: Um..."Most of the third act composes of essays about his various opinions instead of comics." leads me to believe that you've never actually read the last 100 issues of Cerebus. Yes, the Torah commentaries in issues #280 through 287 contain alot of tiny type and are a bit of a speedbump in the narrative, but those issues AREN'T just lots and lots of teeny tiny type. And since I'm pretty sure Cerebus ISN'T Dave's mouthpiece, I think that answers your question re: Minds.
The Highs and Lows of Cerebus: Um...I take it you haven't read Cinema Purgatorio either?
My Overall Response: the irony of pointing out the flaws in Cerebus with a flawed encapsulation of Cerebus is pretty much the most Meta-review of Cerebus ever. And yes, there is more to it, lots more.
